About TWTWTW

Staff

Barry Curtis, Editor
Mr Curtis describes himself as pro-liberty and humanist.  He wants to rattle the cage of our risk-averse therapeutic society.  He holds an MA in the Philosophy of Mind.

Red Dave, Labour Correspondent
Red Dave is working for socialism from within the British Labour Party.  He has been hoping for the past 80 years that the Party will come round to the ideals of liberty and equality.  He holds an NVQ in photocopying.

Sue Denim, Interviews
Ms Denim describes herself as a post-Marxist cynic.  Her aim in life is to raise her eyebrows at the great and the good.  She holds a PhD in Political Science.

"Girlfiend", Jokes Compiler
Ms Girlfiend trawls through the crap on the net to bring you the best jokes around.  She enjoys eccentric karaoke bars.  She is also the TWTWTW legal advisor.

David G, IT Expert
David does not want to reveal what the 'G' stands for, for legal reasons.  Some have suggested "Gawky" or "Gallant".  He just hopes it's never "Gagged" as he writes about affairs of state.  As an IT expert, Mr G's hobbies include paintball, theme parks, and freecell.

Mission Statement

Much of contemporary satire is lacking in punch.  It fails to nail the great and good, or tackle the issues that affect people's lives.  Heck, Have I Got News For You even features politicians as the supposed satirists.  Rather than play court jester, this site aims to fulfil the Juvenalian role that satire should have, i.e. to offend and blaspheme.  That Was The Weak That Was cares not for politically correct sensibilities, we only care to amuse.  For more on what's missing from modern day 'satire', see Barry Curtis' article on Spiked.

That Was The Weak That Was is now published fortnightly.  It used to be weekly until we realised that bigger issues and greater in-depth coverage required a fortnightly format.

We welcome submissions from new readers - articles are printed on the basis of merit alone.  Email barry9999@hotmail.com with articles, and to join the mailing list informing recipients when new issues are published.

DISCLAIMER:  Any resemblance between characters portrayed herein and real life people is purely coincidental.  Where real names are cited, everything said is a lie.  All interviews are made up.
